August 25, 2015

We’re back at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre on the 5th of September! As always, we’re honoured to be collaborating with friends from Gamelan Asmaradana and BronzAge Gamelan, in the spirit of building a community where everyone can appreciate and explore Javanese gamelan together.

Date: Saturday, 5 September

Time: 3 half hour sets, at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm.

Venue and Admission: Esplanade Outdoor Theatre, free and open to the public.

As a sneak preview, here’s a clip from one of our previous shows at the theatre. See you there!

“Puspawarna” with Gamelan Sekar Sersan

August 11, 2015

If you’re free this Saturday evening (15 August), why not stop to smell the Myriad of Flowers at the Esplanade Concourse (click link for official webpage). There are two slots – 8.15 – 8.45pm and 9.15-9.45pm, and will feature a gadhon ensemble that focuses on the “softer” elaborating instruments and vocals.

If you’ve been following Singa Nglaras, you might see some familiar faces performing – here’s a little preview 😉

A really big Thank You to the Javanese Community in Singapore for organising the event, and inviting us over. Thanks too to Gamelan Asmaradana for the experienced and professional miking, Uncle David for the moving and logistics, and Haiqal for so many of the lovely photos 🙂
